Living the Fantasy

Columbus comes out at night. That’s when the energy comes. The darkness lights. The bunnies run. They strut their asses everywhere… They make you want them… And you have faith, that you’ll succeed… before last call comes…

After a listless, virtually pantomime (not by any stretch of the imagination boring) first two hours; Sugar Bar recaptured their energy at midnight… The first two hours weren’t nothing, there was a satisfactory crowd… However, like McFadden’s (Friday night a week ago), that special something, that defines our city, was missing… When it reappeared, the scene was unlike anything I have ever seen…

In other bars and clubs, you will find the campus cuties, the potential hookups, and girls just out for fun and you will, if you stay in the place long enough, witness craziness… But, nowhere in this city, will you find the decadence, the opulence, the level of bunny glam that you will find in Sugar… Why? Because Sugar is different… It is the most alluring location Columbus has…

Sugar is not defined by the music or the drinks or the bunnies… Every club has the first two and most clubs have the third… Sugar is defined by the dancers, two muffins in form fitted tops and fishnets that radiate lust as they dance… Sugar is defined by the guy taking random pictures and then making out with one of Santa’s helpers… Sugar is defined by the girls who don’t dress for a night out… they dress to own the night out… (Although I must say I eyed a few early on who should take what they were wearing home, burn it, and never wear it again as they could clearly not pull it off)…

Sugar’s allure is it makes you want… It’s not enough to get in the door… You want to be dancing with the table full of bunnies, with a bottle of champagne on that table… You want to be doing shots with the promoters in the V.I.P. Mezzanine… You want to be on the stage, in the dj booth, at the table next to the millionaire’s son… It’s this combination, part Les Deux and part Studio 54, that make Sugar a fantasy land that one you walk away from, you want to walk right back into…

Finally, for those wondering about my open… the song was in my head and seemed to fit with when the bar got busy… I will mention you on this site tomorrow if you e-mail me who sings it…
