It’s What We Call The News

10 TV: Burglaries are on the rise in central Ohio. Police blame tough economic conditions and homes filled with holiday gifts for the increase… Home burglaries are also up in the City of Columbus. The most pronounced rise in burglaries are in what the police call Zone One in northeast Columbus. Here police have 53 more reported burglaries than the same time last year.

I’ve read similar stories today about other cities… Each says the same thing and each makes even less sense… Crime is up because the economy is bad? Crime is up because crime is up everywhere… It was this spring, it was this summer, and now (shockingly), it is this winter…

NBC4: A firefighter under investigation for allegedly shooting his dogs to death could potentially face charges if investigators determine that he used a two-liter bottle to muffle gunshots from a .22-caliber rifle… Investigators were looking into claims that [David] Santuomo bragged to other firefighters about killing the dogs because he was going on vacation… Investigators said that a recent search of Santuomo's home turned up a .22-caliber rifle and antifreeze, but humane society officers have asked prosecutors to review the evidence after a green, two-liter bottle was allegedly found taped to the end of the rifle...Using a device to muffle or silence a gun blast could result in felony charges,

My opinion of this moron has been stated… Send the jerk to jail…

10 TV: It will be a cloudy night in central Ohio…it will be cold on Wednesday night, with overnight low temperatures dropping to 24 degrees. It will remain dry on Friday. Look for partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will reach 37 degrees. Bradley said that a strong storm system will bring a wintry mix north of Columbus on Thursday night. Rain will be in the south. It will turn to all rain by Friday, as temperatures climb into the upper 40s.

I can live with the cold… Just keep the snow out of town!
