If you can this season, take a moment and donate to any charity…
The slumping economy is making it hard for charities to meet the demand of people seeking assistance during the holidays. Lloyd Craycroft said more than 300 people turned out to get help from Victory Mission over the weekend… He said Victory Mission has seen a 20 percent increase in requests for help this year. As the need for help increases, Craycroft said donations to Victory Mission have dropped. The Salvation Army is also feeling the pinch…With 10 days remaining in the holiday kettle campaign, the Salvation Army was more than $200,000 shy of their goal.

Also remember, Public Radio stations like WCBE are being hit hard. They've been a staple in CBUS for years and can use the help.
Yeah yeah, they don't help the homeless but they do employ a number of folk.
