Quick Read

Tracy Turner leads Thursday, spinning a fresh narrative into a story that has been done past it’s usefulness… Her angle on the diminishing amount of ammunition available was brilliant. Equally brilliant was Jennifer Richards story (metro) about a charter school investigation…. Kathy Lynn Gray’s story (metro) about OSU Rovers was interesting, but honestly, not worth a section lead…

Not worth printing period were Ken Gordon and Rob Oller’s columns (sports) on Ohio State’s spring football… Spring football should induce excitement… Gordon and Oller’s work made me want to induce a nap… Marla Rose’s story (business) on five Port Columbus Hotels was solid…. And Joe Blundo’s feature (Life and Arts) on scrub choices was an appropriate story, given ER’s finale this evening…

Kevin Joy’s story (weekender) on late night activities was a disaster… His entire premise was that these were choices to do after the venues have closed… Two of his choices were for midnight and one a.m., what venues close at that hour?
