10 TV: Three people were taken into custody Friday after a two-hour standoff with police and investigators believe the trio is linked to an armed robbery that left a man dead… Officers went to a home on Atwood Terrace, located on the city's north side, at about 2 a.m. to serve an arrest warrant for a robbery involving a firearm. The man inside refused to surrender to police. SWAT officers were called to the home and attempted to negotiate with the man. After about two hours, the man came outside and surrendered to authorities. According to police, Carlos Cox and two juveniles were taken into custody… Cox, 18, has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting on March 12 at the Iftin Restaurant. The juveniles are also suspects in the slaying and police are still looking for a fourth person who may have been involved. Daud Osman, a restaurant employee, was shot multiple times in the upper body after three armed men forced their way inside and demanded money… Investigators said they believe that Cox and the two juveniles are connected to other robberies in the area…
10 TV: The FBI said that a man was in custody after he allegedly held up a south side bank on Friday morning. Donald S. Peck, 32, was identified by witnesses as the robber and was charged by police with the robbery, investigators said. According to police, a man entered Chase Bank, located at 3471 South High St., at about 10:48 a.m. and handed a teller a note, threatening to "shoot the place up" if she did not give him money. The teller then gave the robber money and he fled the bank, police said. Investigators said that the robber ran to a large, white van. One of the witnesses ran inside the bank and saw the man get into the van, while another man took a picture of the van with his cell phone as it drove away. Officers spotted the van a short distance away and pulled it over. The FBI said that all the money was recovered and no weapon was found.
