Hostage Crisis Ends Sans Incident

10 TV: A man was taken into custody Monday morning after police said he held a woman and infant hostage inside an east side apartment. Police received a call at about 9:30 a.m. about a woman who was being held against her will at Eastland on the Lake apartments, located on Lakeside Street….

When SWAT officers arrived, they said the man had barricaded himself in the apartment, with the woman and infant inside. Investigators said the man has a violent history and was throwing things off the balcony and made threats against officers... People living in the apartment complex were told to stay inside and keep their doors locked.

Officers forced their way into the apartment shortly before 11 a.m. They struggled with the man and were forced to use a Taser to get him under control… The man was taken into custody and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The woman and infant were not injured in the ordeal.
