Just Dance (Assuming the Appropriate Music)

From multiple sources, I heard outstanding news. Drizzle returned to McFadden’s on Wednesday. Apparently, he looks good. His face remains bruised and slightly swollen and he may have to undergo some dental work, but it appears the worst is behind him. Thank goodness! For those of you who did not follow my twitter of Michigan night, Driz suffered multiple facial injuries after being sucker punched.

After a typically slow start to the evening (McFadden’s always gets busier about an hour after I arrive), the Buckeye bunnies and the males who hope to capture one of them came out. The downstairs crowd was minimal throughout the evening. However, the upstairs crowd was impressive. Virtually every piece of real estate was accounted and the bunnies were quite exotic with their dancing.

Now, I have to talk about the DJ… It is a pre-finals Thursday and seriously, most of us are out to enjoy… It is expected that a McFadden’s DJ will throw in some odd tracks, that’s what they do… but, and I want them to read this twice, there is a line between casually random (Call on Me and Dancing in September) and completely random (God Bless the USA and the National Anthem). I swear it was like watching a Buckeye game… I’m surprised Hang on Sloopy wasn’t on the track list. For those with eclectic music taste, I’m sure the randomness was a treat. And I’m sure the DJ got some kicks and giggles. For the rest of us, it was like, where is Kanye West?

One of the highlights was the satin black haired female bartender serving the shots in typical McFadden’s fashion, walking the bar during Don’t Stop Believing. Evidently, there were not enough takers for her taste and after an initial surge, she screamed out come on people, then gave up when only one more came seeking.

She rebounded nicely when she walked the upstairs bar, pumping her fist, shaking her ass, and pouring the magic down people’s throats. It was in a word impressive. The entire night was actually. If it seems my wrap is a little light on craziness, there was no craziness to be had.

From the bartenders (one of which wore white boots with an all black outfit) serving drafts into happy hour winner’s plastic cups to the bouncers, discussing their boredom and the various bunnies that approached them, this was a subdued and yet very entertaining night. A night when no one fought and everyone went home with hookup wishes and hangover dreams.
