At Least, He Was Polite

The bad news? We keep gutting cops, this keeps happening. The good news? The bank robbers have promised to be on their best behavior.

NBC 4:
A youthful robber carrying a bookbag said “please” and “thank-you” as he gave instructions to a clerk while allegedly taking money from a Columbus bank on Friday, the eighth robbery at a bank in the city this week.

The FBI tells NBC 4 that at approximately 11:05 am, a man entered the National City Bank, 1886 N. High Street, Columbus, and handed a teller a robbery note that demanded money and indicated that if the teller cooperated, no one would get hurt.

The teller complied and gave the robber a very small amount of money, including a dye-pack. The robber took the money and fled the bank. Once outside, witnesses observed the dye-pack to explode, but the robber kept it and ran away. The robber was described as a black male, approximately 18-21 years of age, 5’9”, medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, baseball cap, white shirt hanging out, dark pants, dark shoes, and carrying a book bag. He never showed a weapon, but implied that he was carrying one, according to a description of events given by the FBI.

Anyone with any information should contact the Columbus Police Robbery Squad at 614-645-4665 or the FBI at 614-744-2168.
