It’s What We Call the News

NBC 4: Kimberly Adkins was loading groceries into her vehicle at the Kroger in the Georgesville Square shopping center at about 12:25 a.m. Thursday. She was approached by a male who grabbed her purse and threatened her to force her to release her grip, CPD said in a report. When Adkins refused to let go, the suspect allegedly knocked her to the ground and dragged her across the parking lot until the straps of her purse broke. The suspect was described a white male in his early 20s who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and has brown hair. A white female with a ponytail, who was wearing red pants and a white T-shirt, entered the UDF at 3555 Broadway St., in Grove City, at about 12:51 a.m. Thursday. CPD said the female made a purchase with Adkins’ stolen credit card. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact the Columbus police robbery squad at 614-645-4665 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-645-TIPS.

NBC 4: The Franklin County Health Department inspected an apartment complex on Friday where, residents say, bed bugs aren’t their only problem. Residents say their other problem is getting their landlord to do something about the unwelcome guests. Residents of The Pointe Apartments on Harrisburg Pike say they have paid for hotel rooms rather than sleep in their own beds. Residents received a letter from the complex officials saying that exterminators would arrive on May 6, but residents said the exterminator never showed up. Franklin County health officials went door-to-door inspecting apartments. For the second time since last fall, health officials are issuing orders for pest control as soon as possible.
