While I must once again ask the obvious, I must change the question… Did Batelle purchase the Dispatch? Did they take over what was previously a journalistic enterprise and turn it into a daily public relations outlet? Did I miss a press conference?
Batelle’s second front page story in as many days, was among several lowlights in a lackluster lead section… Jeb Phillips National Guard story read as though the organization released it… Dean Narciso’s story on garbage and police cooperation, while an intriguing premise, was flat by the fourth paragraph, and Mark Ferenchink’s story on blighted south side houses was a metro section story…
Mike Pramik’s story on the city competing to keep a mortgage lender, that was a front-page story… Unfortunately, they buried it on C8… Bob Hunter’s column on Ohio State’s decline due to injuries was, for once, well written… However, it amounted to someone whining about their team, who isn’t as good as they appeared…
